Management Responsibilities

  • Oversee the accounting and finance department, including supervising and delegating department staff
  • Responsible for monitoring and enforcing Company policies and procedures
  • Act as liaison between accounting & finance and the other departments of the Company
  • Manage outsourced function
  • Responsible for establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls

Transaction & Financial Reporting Responsibilities

  • Review budgets and forecast and making recommendations to executives, calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
  • Analyze financial statements by reviewing budget to actuals, reviewing and investigating variances
  • Responsible for consolidation of financial statements
  • Review reports of key metrics and financial health of the Company to present to executives and board of directors
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Issue timely and complete financial statements
  • Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report, lead the audit process by reviewing and providing information to external auditors
  • Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
  • Responsible for the filing of quarterly (10-Q) and annual reports (10-K) with the SEC
  • Review journal entries prepared by accounting team for appropriateness
  • Oversee the Company’s inventory accounting
  • Record and calculate stock-compensation expense for options and stock issuance through the Company’s Stock Option Plan
  • Ability to research and analyze accounting transactions for proper treatment under U.S. GAAP, including researching appropriate literature, perform analysis, write-up of findings, arrive at appropriate conclusion, and preparing support to record the transaction in the general ledger
  • Monitor and lead the quarterly and year-end close process to ensure timely close of the Company’s financial statements
  • Day to day financial management

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance and/or accounting
  • 8-10 years of experience, with 3-4 years in a management position overseeing accounting staff and 7-10 years of public accounting experience with a national firm
  • CPA desired
  • Solid understanding of inventory cost accounting, including standard costing
  • Understanding and application of ASC 718, Stock-based compensation, ASC 606 Revenue Recognition, ASC 842 Lease Accounting
  • Experience with consolidating financial statements
  • Experience drafting financial statements with applicable disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Experience with analyzing accounting transactions by researching accounting literature and arriving at appropriate conclusion
  • Experience preparing and reviewing supporting schedules for quarterly and annual filings with the SEC

Pay: $100,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year DOE
