Quality Control Technician

Karat® by Lollicup headquartered in Chino, CA, is the manufacturer of Karat® & Karat Earth® food disposable packaging and TeaZone® beverage products, the master distributor of other leading brands’ coffee & tea ingredients (such as Da Vinci, Big Train, Monin, etc), and we also specialize in custom print and innovative packaging. We have been recognized for our thermoforming plastic capabilities in North America to produce cups and food packaging products that allow us to offer competitive pricing throughout our distribution network (currently 5 regional warehouses are located in CA, TX, SC, WA, and NJ), and services to chain accounts such as Panda Express, Chili’s, TGI Friday, Flame Broiler, Torchy’s Taco, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and more.

The quality control supervisor position analyzes process reports and troubleshoots problems to correct quality issues. The job is located at our Texas office in Rockwall, Texas.

Essential Functions

  1. Conducts necessary quality inspections using proper equipment and techniques in accordance with inspection plans.
  2. Maintains neat and accurate documentation of quality inspection activities.
  3. Conducts statistical analysis on selected processes and reports findings.
  4. Assists with problem-solving: Root cause analysis and formal corrective action.
  5. Ensures that incoming materials are in compliance with specifications before release to production.
  6. Ensures that in-process inspections are carried out in accordance with procedures and work instructions.
  7. Ensures that the finished product meets company and customer specifications.
  8. Enters data into various software applications, as necessary
  9. Provides management with detailed quality reports as required.
  10. Responsible for monitoring critical control points (CCP).
  11. Recommends modifications to the existing quality management system documents and/or standards to achieve optimum quality.
  12. Promotes continuous improvement of quality control programs throughout the organization.
  13. Other duties as may be required and/or assigned by Quality Assurance Management.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional production environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 50 hours per week. Some weekends may be assigned by QC Manager

Required Education and Experience

  1. Intermediate math skills
  2. Great Oral / Written communications
  3. Team environment cohesion
  4. A minimum of 2 years of experience in quality control in a manufacturing environment.
